I joined Suze's yoga as a birthday present to myself 3 years, x number of pounds, and minus 2 kids ago. I flung myself into class, not knowing what to expect, self conscious, and completely unaware. But I stuck with it. Literally, in one month I felt, and looked like a new person. Each class brought movement, challenge, heat and stillness.
I've been athletic/in the gym in some way all my life, so for me the physical challenge has always been the fun and easy part. The real challenge for me was the stillness and quiet.
Letting go and just breathing was the hardest part. I learned to close my eyes and disregard how I looked from the outside and how to feel the pose from the inside out. This allowed me to drop pounds of anxiety, and from that came clarity, precision, and joy. For me - Yoga is fun. it feels good. It brings balance. I believe I am now in the best physical, emotional, and mental health I've ever been in.
As a mother of 2 (crazy, little) boys, Yoga is the gift I give myself so that I can keep up with a non-stop life and maintain. It allows me to have something (a practice) that is truly mine, apart from kiddos and husband- yet at the same time without a doubt makes me a better mommy and wife.
My deepest desire is to pass-on this amazing gift to all of you who share breath & sweat with me each time we enter this beautiful space and practice.
